Question by whitneyskywalker: Do restaurant recipes have to be original?
If a person were to open a small, independently-owned restaurant, is it a requirement to use only original recipes? I mean, obviously, you wouldn't want to copy the recipes from other restaurants or major chains, but is it legal to use a published cookbook for your recipes?

Answer by Welcome FallI don't believe that recipes have a copy write on them since anyone can make the recipe, but here's a hint, take a recipe and change just one thing on it, like instead of 1 tsp salt add 2 tsp for example and it's your recipe.
